XML feeds
Send your jobs to Indeed, Jooble, Careerjet, Jora, and Jobrapido with ready-made XML feeds on your own domain.
A
JJob aggregators such as Indeed and Jooble list jobs from XML feeds that job boards submit to them. Every Cavuno board has a ready-made feed for each of these aggregators:
| Aggregator | Feed URL |
|---|---|
| Indeed | https://<your board domain>/feeds/indeed.xml |
| Jooble | https://<your board domain>/feeds/jooble.xml |
| Careerjet | https://<your board domain>/feeds/careerjet.xml |
| Jora | https://<your board domain>/feeds/jora.xml |
| Jobrapido | https://<your board domain>/feeds/jobrapido.xml |
Your board domain is your custom domain if you have one, otherwise your Cavuno subdomain. Each feed is formatted for its aggregator. You can also create custom feeds for other partners.
Feeds are available on every plan. Find them in Settings → Integrations → XML feeds. You can copy each feed URL from there.
If your board runs on your own site with the Board SDK, feeds are coming soon. You can set feeds up now. Their URLs appear once your site can serve them.
How feeds stay up to date
- A prebuilt aggregator feed is built the first time it is fetched. Until then, its status is Not fetched.
- While the aggregator keeps fetching it (at least once every 14 days), the feed is rebuilt as your jobs change, at most every six hours.
- If no one fetches it for 14 days, the feed shows as Idle. It is rebuilt the next time it is fetched.
Every job link points to the job's page on your board. Links are tagged with utm_source (the aggregator), utm_medium=xml_feed, and utm_campaign (the feed name), so you can see the traffic each feed sends.
Submit a feed to an aggregator
Copy the feed URL from Settings → Integrations → XML feeds, then submit it on the aggregator's site. Each feed row also has a Submit to link that opens the right page.
Indeed
- Open the feed's row and add a Contact email. Indeed uses it to verify your board. See Indeed contact email.
- Read Indeed's XML feed guidelines and follow its steps to submit your feed URL.
Indeed only lists feeds it accepts. It asks job boards not to send jobs collected from other sites, so the Indeed feed includes your own jobs only by default.
Jooble
Read Jooble's XML feed specification and contact Jooble with your feed URL as it describes.
Careerjet
Submit your website to Careerjet and include your feed URL.
Jora
Follow Get your jobs published on Jora with an XML feed and contact Jora with your feed URL.
Jora requires unique jobs posted directly on your board, rather than copied from other sources. Choose Your jobs only for the Jora feed before submitting it to leave Backfill jobs out.
Jobrapido
Follow Jobrapido's guide, How can I send my feed to Jobrapido.
Indeed contact email
Indeed's feed format includes a contact email. Cavuno does not fill it in for you, because feed URLs are public. Until you add one, the Indeed feed shows Needs email.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → XML feeds.
- Open the Indeed feed.
- Enter a Contact email, such as
jobs@yourdomain.com. - Select Save.
Choose which jobs to include
Open any feed to change which jobs it includes.
- Your jobs only: jobs posted on your board. Backfill jobs are left out. This is the default for Indeed.
- All published jobs, including Backfill: every job on your board except sponsored jobs. This is the default for the other aggregators.
Sponsored jobs are never included in any feed.
Under Filter, you can narrow a feed by employment type, work arrangement, seniority, and categories, or include Featured jobs only. Indeed expects one feed to hold every job on your board, so the form warns you if you filter the Indeed feed.
Custom feeds
Create a custom feed when a partner needs a different set of jobs or different field names.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → XML feeds and select Create feed.
- Enter a Name. It also tags each job link, so you can tell partners apart in your analytics.
- Choose a Format: one of the aggregators, or Custom format.
- For Custom format, rename the XML elements under Field names to match what your partner expects. A blank name keeps the standard one.
- Choose which jobs to include and any filters, then select Create feed.
A custom feed builds when you create or edit it, even before its first fetch. Its URL is set from its name when you create it and does not change if you rename the feed. You can have up to 25 custom feeds. The five aggregator feeds can be edited but not deleted.
Deleting a custom feed stops Cavuno serving it. Each aggregator decides when to remove jobs it previously listed.
Troubleshooting
A feed shows "Not fetched"
The aggregator has not fetched the feed yet. Check that you submitted the exact URL from the XML feeds page. Some aggregators take days to start fetching a new feed.
A feed shows "Failed"
The last build failed. Hover over the status to see the reason. The feed URL keeps serving the last file that built successfully. Cavuno builds it again when your jobs next change. If it keeps failing, contact support.
The Indeed feed shows "Needs email"
Add a contact email to the Indeed feed. See Indeed contact email.
Your board moved to a new domain
When your board's domain changes, your feed URLs change too. The XML feeds page shows a notice with the new domain. Submit the new feed URLs to each aggregator, then select Done.
