Customize your design
Use theme controls, brand references, and element selection to refine your board.
A
JUse Theme for shared design choices and the chat for layout, branding, and detailed changes. Select an element in the preview when you want the builder to work on a specific part of a page.
Before you begin
Open a task with an existing draft. Prepare your logo and brand references. Wait for current work to finish before using controls that are disabled while the builder is busy or while you are viewing an older version.
Adjust the theme
- Switch the builder pane to Theme.
- Choose the design values you want to change. The panel includes base color, accent, menu appearance, corner radius, and heading and body fonts.
- Select Apply theme and wait for the change to finish.
- Return to Preview and inspect several pages at desktop and mobile sizes.
Colors and fonts can take different amounts of time to apply. Wait for the builder to finish before deciding that a selection was ignored. Applying a theme changes the draft; use Publish to update the public site.
Edit a specific element
- Open the page in Preview.
- Use Select an element, then choose the element you want to change.
- Describe the change in the chat. For simple supported text selections, use Edit text, enter the replacement, and select Apply.
- Review the updated element and nearby content. Sending clears the selection automatically. Use Clear selection if you want to abandon the selection before sending.
For example: “Left-align the location in this job row and give every row the same location column. Keep the title and company spacing unchanged.”
Add your branding
Attach your logo and ask where it should appear, including whether it should replace an existing mark. Supply exact brand colors and font names when available. For example: “Use the attached association logo in the header and footer. Keep its proportions and use a white background behind it.”
Ask for site-wide changes explicitly. A request to change one heading does not necessarily express an intent to change all typography. You can also ask for a specific light or dark appearance and review the generated result.
Check the design
Check long job titles, long company names, empty lists, button labels, and mobile navigation. Confirm that text is readable against its background and that the logo is not distorted. Follow the primary action on the edited page.
Keep the board fast. The starter theme passes Core Web Vitals on mobile, and most design changes leave that intact. Large images, embedded video, and third-party widgets are the usual causes of a slower page, so ask for images sized to their slot and measure the published site after adding media. See Page speed and Core Web Vitals.
Troubleshooting
If element selection cannot start, retry once the live preview is available. If theme controls are disabled, finish the active work or return to the latest version. If applying a theme fails, review which changes landed. Selections that did not apply remain staged so you can retry. Use version history if you want to bring back a previous design.
