Do I have to add jobs manually, or does Cavuno import them?

Cavuno imports them. Backfill automatically pulls relevant jobs from company careers pages based on your rules and company sources — AI generates starter rules from your board description when the board is created. Manual posting is optional, for roles backfill can't reach.

My backfill isn't bringing in enough jobs — what do I check?

If you just created an Active target-role rule, wait a few hours first. Jobs are not instant, and you do not need to add companies for the rule to work. After that window, widen rule conditions that are too narrow, add Company sources only if you want named employers regardless of role, and loosen Backfill settings (Board context and job filters) if they're rejecting relevant roles. Backfill counts toward your plan's active-jobs limit and runs a full sync daily at 03:00 UTC plus on-demand syncs through the day.

What if backfill is adding too many jobs?

If the jobs are off-topic, check every active target-role rule and the Companies → Backfilling tab: company sources import jobs independently of target-role conditions and exclusions. Open Backfill settings from the menu on any Backfill page (Rules, Companies, or Feeds) and make Board context specific about which jobs to include and reject. If the jobs are relevant but there are too many, set Maximum backfilled jobs in Backfill settings. That cap limits volume but does not improve relevance.

Backfill automatically imports jobs from company careers pages to populate your board. It solves the chicken-and-egg problem every new job board faces: you need jobs to attract candidates, but employers want to see traffic before posting. With backfill, your board has fresh, relevant content from day one while you build direct employer relationships.

For example, a climate-tech board can use target-role rules to find engineering and sustainability positions across the job pool. It can also enable selected Company sources when it wants jobs from those employers regardless of role. Board context and job filters can narrow both sources while the operator builds direct employer relationships.
