Edit pages, navigation, and metadata

Add pages, update header and footer links, and describe page metadata through the builder.

Ask the builder to create or revise a page, then explain how visitors should reach it. Include the page's purpose, content, navigation links, and primary action in the request.

Before you begin

Decide the page's audience and URL, prepare the copy, and gather the exact destinations for external links. Open an existing draft in Website builder. Use content you have reviewed for About, contact, and policy pages.

Add or update a page

  1. Open the page you want to change using the page selector, or name the new page in your prompt.
  2. Describe its content and purpose. Supply the exact text where wording matters.
  3. Specify how to link to it from the header or footer.
  4. Send the request and wait for the updated draft.
  5. Open the page in the preview and follow its navigation links.

For example:

Add a For employers page at /for-employers. Explain that this board reaches civil engineering professionals in Australia. Include a Post a job button using our existing posting flow. Add For employers to the header and keep it accessible from the mobile menu.

Provide a label and destination for each link. Use a path such as /about for a page on your board and a full https:// URL for another site. Ask whether a change should apply across all pages.

For an association, you might keep Jobs and For employers in the header, with a link back to the association website. Put contact details and reviewed policy links in the footer. Ask the builder to remove outdated links as part of the same request.

Page titles and descriptions

Ask for the browser title and meta description separately from the visible heading. For example:

Set the homepage browser title to “Civil engineering jobs in Australia | Coastal Engineering Association.” Set its meta description to “Explore civil engineering opportunities across Australia, including structural, transport, and water engineering roles.” Keep the visible heading unchanged.

For pages driven by job or company data, ask for metadata based on the current record rather than repeating a fixed example. See job board SEO for the broader setup. The old section editor's SEO panel and template-token instructions do not apply to this workflow.

Check the result

Open the new page directly and through its header or footer link. Test the mobile menu, confirm the browser tab title, and follow the main action. After publishing, repeat these checks on the public URL. For metadata verification, inspect the page's title and description in the browser's page source or developer tools.

Troubleshooting

If a link returns an error, check that the page exists at the requested path. If a link goes to the wrong site, provide the complete intended destination in your next prompt. If the public site still has the old copy, confirm that you published the updated version.
