Customize the cookie consent banner
Override the cookie consent banner title, description, and button labels so the banner matches your board's voice and language.
A
JBy default, the cookie consent banner uses the standard wording "Hey, we use cookies" with an Accept and Reject button. You can override the title, description, accept label, and reject label per board so the banner matches your voice and the language your audience expects.
These overrides apply to the banner that appears whenever Require cookie consent is enabled in your analytics settings. They affect every analytics integration that's gated behind consent, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag.
Edit the banner copy
- Go to Board settings in the sidebar
- Click the Analytics tab
- Scroll to Cookie banner labels
- Update the fields you want to change
- Click Save
Changes take effect immediately. New visitors will see the updated banner; visitors who have already accepted or rejected cookies won't see it again unless they clear their browser storage.
Available fields
- Banner title: the heading shown at the top of the banner. Max 200 characters. Default: "Hey, we use cookies".
- Banner description: the supporting paragraph explaining what cookies are used for. Max 500 characters. Default: "This website uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website."
- Accept button label: the text on the button that grants consent. Max 80 characters. Default: "Accept".
- Reject button label: the text on the button that declines consent. Max 80 characters. Default: "Reject".
All four fields are required. Leave them at their defaults if the standard wording works for your audience.
Tips
- Be specific about what cookies you use. "We use cookies to track visits and improve our site" is more trustworthy than vague boilerplate.
- Match the tone of your board. If your board's voice is casual, keep the banner casual. If you have a B2B audience expecting formality, tighten it up.
- Localize for your audience. Boards serve a single language, so write the banner in whatever language your board's visitors speak. The banner does not translate automatically.
- Make the reject button obvious. Some regulators require an opt-out path that's as easy to find as the opt-in. Don't hide rejection behind ambiguous language.
