Job Alerts

What job seekers experience when they subscribe to alerts: the subscribe and confirm flow, the digest, delivery cadence, and the preferences they control.

Job alerts let job seekers subscribe to your board and receive an email digest when new jobs match what they are looking for. This page covers the job-seeker side of alerts. The operator side (managing subscribers and deliverability) stays in manage subscribers and email deliverability.

The flow has three stages: subscribe, confirm, and ongoing delivery.

Subscribe

A job seeker enters their email into a subscription form on your board and subscribes. The form captures the email. Preferences (which jobs they want to hear about) are set afterward from the subscriber's management page, linked in every digest.

Confirm

After subscribing, they receive a confirmation email and must click the link to verify their address and activate the alert. Until they confirm, they appear in your dashboard as pending confirmation and receive no digests.

Delivery

Once confirmed, your board matches new jobs against the subscriber's preferences and sends a digest. Alerts are delivered as a digest of new matching jobs, and both daily and weekly cadences are supported, chosen in the subscriber's preferences. A digest only goes out when there are matching jobs since the previous one, so subscribers never receive an empty email.

Turn it on

To offer job alerts on your board:

  1. Go to Board settings in your dashboard sidebar.
  2. Open the Features tab.
  3. Toggle Job alerts on.

Once on, the subscription form appears on your public board and the Job alerts area appears in your dashboard navigation, where you manage subscribers.

Subscriber statuses

Each subscriber has one of four statuses:

  • Active: confirmed and receiving digests.
  • Pending confirmation: subscribed but has not clicked the confirmation link.
  • Waitlisted: subscribed while alerts were paused or at capacity.
  • Unsubscribed: opted out of digests.

Preferences

Subscribers narrow their alerts by job functions, seniority level, work arrangement (remote, hybrid, on-site), location, and salary range, alongside the daily or weekly cadence. Tighter filters mean fewer but more relevant matches, which tends to improve engagement and your sending reputation over time. Every digest links to a management page where subscribers can update preferences, unsubscribe, or resubscribe, so most subscriber management needs no action from you.

Availability

  • Plan: All paid plans. Job alerts are available on every paid plan.
  • Setting: Board settings, then Features, then "Job alerts." Once on, the subscription form appears on your public board and the alerts area appears in your dashboard navigation.
  • Setup required: None. For best deliverability, see email deliverability.

Limitations

  • A digest is sent only when there are matching jobs; there is no instant, per-job alert.
  • Each digest includes up to a fixed number of the newest matching jobs, so an unusually large batch is capped per email.
