Preview and publish your board

Test a draft, resolve failed checks, and publish the version you want visitors to see.

Publishing makes a checked version of your draft available on your board's public URL. Changes you make afterward stay in the draft until you publish again.

Before you begin

Finish the change you want to release. Add representative jobs and confirm any required payment or domain setup separately. Know which task contains the draft you intend to publish.

Review the preview

  1. Switch to Preview and use the page selector to open the pages you changed.
  2. Check Desktop and Mobile sizes. Use Open in a new tab when you want more space to test.
  3. Follow a realistic visitor journey: search for a job, open its detail page, and check the application destination. Review employer navigation if you changed it.
  4. Read the builder's completion message and wait for All checks passed. Resolve any Needs attention state before publishing.

For example, if you changed the jobs page, check both a normal result list and a search with no results. Confirm that the empty state gives visitors a useful next action.

Publish

  1. Select Publish in the builder toolbar.
  2. Check the Website URL and the version's readiness. Publishing is available once the required checks pass and the builder is no longer busy.
  3. Select Publish in the panel to release the change.
  4. Wait for the published confirmation, then use Open website or copy the website URL.

To use your own domain, follow Add custom domain or open Settings → Domains. Use the DNS records shown there and follow Connect a custom domain. Adding a domain and publishing a draft are separate steps.

Verify the live site

Open the public URL in a private browser window. Confirm that the intended design and copy are visible, then repeat the main visitor journey. Check mobile layout and important links. A working preview alone does not confirm that the new version is public.

If the release added media, embeds, or third-party scripts, run the public URL through PageSpeed Insights to confirm that the Core Web Vitals are still green. See Page speed and Core Web Vitals.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do
Preview unavailableUse Retry preview. Your saved work is separate from the preview connection.
Checking or FixingWait for the current work to finish.
Needs attentionRead the failure message and use Fix when offered, then review the new result.
Publishing failedRead the message and retry when the version is ready. A failed publish does not mean the new draft is live.
Public site shows an older designConfirm you published from the intended task and opened the website URL rather than a preview or share link.
Your live board has changedUse Update from live, review the combined result, and resolve any attention state before publishing.

If the problem persists, contact support with the board, task, page, and error message.
