How to Configure SEO Settings for Your Job Board

Optimize your job board for search engines with titles, descriptions, and metadata.

Help job seekers find your board through Google and other search engines by configuring your SEO settings.

Access SEO settings

  1. Go to Board settings in the sidebar, then click the SEO tab
  2. You'll find SEO options for different pages on your board

Configurable pages

You can customize SEO settings for these page types:

  • Homepage: Your board's main landing page
  • Companies page: The companies directory
  • Post a job page: The page where employers submit job listings
  • Blog home: Your blog's main page
  • Jobs page: The main job listings page
  • Job category pages: Pages filtered by job category (e.g., Engineering jobs)
  • Job location pages: Pages filtered by location (e.g., Jobs in San Francisco)
  • Job location + category pages: Pages filtered by both (e.g., Engineering jobs in San Francisco)

SEO fields

Each page type has these customizable fields:

H1

The main on-page headline visitors see.

Description

One or two sentences shown on the page to provide context.

SEO title

The page title shown in browser tabs and search results (aim for 55-60 characters).

Meta description

Summary shown in search results below the title (aim for 150-160 characters).

Using dynamic tokens

Use tokens that automatically update with real data. Available tokens vary by page type:

  4. Stay current: Update descriptions as your board grows
  5. Test results: Search for your board on Google to see how it appears
