Redirect your Cavuno board to your self-hosted site

Run your own frontend with the Board SDK and Cavuno sends every visitor to it: your Cavuno address and other custom domains redirect to your self-hosted domain once it verifies.

If you build your own frontend with the @cavuno/board SDK, your board should live in one place. Once your self-hosted domain verifies, your board's Cavuno address and every other custom domain on the board now redirect to it. Visitors, old links and search engines all end up on your site.

You only add one TXT record to prove you own the domain. Its DNS stays with your hosting provider.

Start from Connect domain

Settings → Domains → Connect domain now asks who hosts your board:

  • Cavuno hosts my board: point the domain at Cavuno, as before. This is the right choice for most boards, including boards built with the AI website builder
  • I run my own frontend: the domain already serves your SDK site. Enter it, add the TXT record, and Cavuno takes care of the redirects

Change your mind safely

  • Clear warnings: before you switch, Cavuno names the domain, explains that it will stop serving it, and lists every other domain that will start redirecting
  • Switch back: chose self-hosting by mistake? Choose Switch to Cavuno-hosted in the setup panel, and the panel shows the DNS records to point the domain at Cavuno
  • Move a live domain: an active Cavuno-hosted domain has Move to self-hosting… in its menu, which takes you through setting up your frontend before DNS moves, so the domain never goes dark

Other improvements

  • Inbox notifications: new visitor messages now appear in the dashboard bell and as a count on the Inbox sidebar item, with a chime on any dashboard page. Mute it from the speaker icon in the sidebar. See Notifications in the dashboard
  • Review held jobs from the jobs table: jobs waiting for your approval now have their own Awaiting approval status. Approve or reject them one by one or in bulk; bulk approval stops at your plan's job limit. Employers can no longer publish a held post themselves, and aggregated jobs left unreviewed for 30 days are removed. See Review and approve jobs
  • Referrer spam left out of analytics: visits from domains on Matomo's referrer spam list no longer count as visitors. See Referrer spam
  • Consent records: builder and SDK boards can record each visitor's cookie banner choice with analytics.recordConsent(), kept for two years without IP addresses. See Consent records
  • Analytics retention: raw analytics events are now deleted after 13 months, and page URLs are stored without query strings other than UTM tags. See Cavuno Analytics data
  • Company files and images as URLs: public company image and file custom fields now come back from the API as ready-to-use URLs
