Board analytics now leave out automated traffic. This covers your whole history, not only new visits, so past weeks and months are counted the same way as today.
Why we made this change
Some boards were receiving a lot of automated traffic: software that loads pages but never interacts with them. Those page loads counted as visitors, which inflated visitor numbers on some boards and made it harder to see how many real people were using the board.
What you will notice
- Lower visit and pageview numbers on boards that received automated traffic, including views of job and company pages. Most boards see no change
- Fair comparisons: when a card compares this period with the previous one, both periods leave out automated traffic, so you will not see a false drop
- Apply click totals are unchanged: automated visitors were not clicking Apply, so apply click totals stay the same
How detection works
Cavuno looks at how visitors behave on your board rather than checking them against a fixed list. Traffic that loads pages without using them the way people do is left out. Declared crawlers, such as search engine bots, are now filtered with a maintained list. New automated traffic is usually left out within an hour of arriving.
