A place list for the talent directory API

The talent directory API now lists the places where a board's candidates live, with a candidate count for each, so a directory can offer a town that has candidates but no jobs.

A talent directory's location filter used to borrow the jobs place list, which only has places with jobs. The new talent place list has the places where the board's candidates live instead.

  • Each place carries the same fields as the jobs place list, plus candidateCount
  • A candidate counts in their home place and every place above it, so a country counts every candidate in its cities
  • Counts match what the viewer can see in the directory: signed-out visitors count public profiles, and signed-in visitors also count profiles visible to signed-in users only. Hidden profiles never count
  • Places are sorted busiest first. Places with no candidate for the viewer are left out
  • Pass a place's slug as the directory's place filter
  • Pass q for a location search box: it matches place names and slugs the way the jobs place list's q does, ranking prefix matches first, then places with more candidates
  • The list follows the directory's access: it is unavailable when the directory is off, and restricted to employers when the directory is

The API route is GET /v1/boards/{identifier}/talent/places, and the SDK method is board.talent.places.list().

Available on every plan.
